Wrigley 'Start Early' Run benefits two advocacy groups for children

Two children’s advocacy groups – Voices for Illinois Children and Prevent Child Abuse America — will be the beneficiaries of the Wrigley "Start Early" Run on Saturday, April 16. This year’s event is being held at a new location: Fullerton Avenue and Cannon Drive.
The 5K and 10K Runs will be held at 9 a.m., followed by a 5K Pledge Walk at 9:15 a.m. and a Kid’s Dash at 10:15 a.m.
Voices for Illinois Children (VIC) is a statewide, nonprofit organization that has worked since 1987 with dozens of partners to improve the lives of children. VIC’s portion of Run/Walk proceeds will benefit their "Start Early: Learning Begins at Birth" campaign. Prevent Child Abuse America has worked since 1972 as a national advocate to prevent child abuse and neglect through numerous educational awareness programs.
The pre-registration cost for the 5K/10K Run is $20 per adult; the event day cost is $25. The cost for the 5K Pledge Walk is $10 in advance or $12 on-site. The cost for children ages 9-14 is $10 and it's free for those ages 8 and under.
Pre-registrations can be made online at startearly.com or chicagoevents.com. For more information, call (773) 868-3010.
