Lincoln Park resident Jeff Lowe was the primary sponsor of the recent Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation Charity Auction and party at the Park West. In three years of Lowe’s sponsorship, this glamorous event raised nearly $500,000 to brighten the lives of chronically, critically and seriously ill children.
"A Night to Dream" brought 750 party-goers and philanthropists to a night of music and excitement. Guest bid on 20 terrific vacation, entertainment and shopping packages via live and silent auctions.
Starlight Starbright Special Events Director Amy Harris praised Jeff Lowe for energizing the annual fundraiser, bringing fresh ideas and introducing new donors. His contributions make us feel twice blessed, she said.
For example, Jeff Lowe brought 75 contributing friends to the Park West event. His wife, Molly Lowe, volunteers at Children’s Memorial Hospital and employs her master’s degree in teaching to help long-hospitalized children return to school.
The Starlight Starbright Foundation brightens the lives of seriously ill children. It provides entertainers, musicians and parties to the pediatric sections of 162 Midwest hospitals including prominent children’s hospitals. The foundation creates Hollywood movie nights and brings TV/ movie/ game centers to children’s bedsides or medical treatment facilities. Outside of hospitals, they organize monthly activities for seriously ill children and their families including entertainment evenings, proms, professional sports trips and parade floats.
