Public meeting set on Fullerton el station

The CTA will present its proposal for a new Fullerton el station at a community meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in room 154 of DePaul University’s Schmitt Academic Center, 2320 N. Kenmore Ave. CTA Chairman Valerie Jarrett and CTA President Frank Kruesi will be present to hear any feedback from the community regarding the CTA’s proposal.

“It’s not only important to have the input of people who live near the station, but we also need to make sure that we hear from the people who regularly use the Fullerton station,” said Ald. Vi Daley (43rd).

The CTA has an agreement with the federal government to make the Fullerton station handicapped accessible by 2008. The CTA also plans to expand all the stations on its Brown Line to accommodate eight-car trains in order to ease the overcrowding that has occurred as a result of increased ridership. The Fullerton station is the sixth busiest station in the whole CTA system.
