The Saint Joseph Hospital Associates, a volunteer group of young professionals, will host its second annual Lift a Spirit benefit from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Salvage One, 1840 W. Hubbard St. The event will celebrate an evening of "Food, Art, Wine and Health." Proceeds from the event will help support the prescription program at the Lakeview Health Center for underprivileged patients.
"Saint Joseph Hospital is committed to providing access to quality health services for those in the community who lack the financial resources," said Anne Shaver, chairperson for Lift a Spirit and a member of the Saint Joseph Hospital Associates. "The hospital's ambulatory clinic services, which includes the Lakeview Health Center, is the primary vehicle for assisting these patients who otherwise might not receive the health care they deserve. The Associates group is delighted to be able to provide the Center with a gift that will help underwrite prescriptions for patients who cannot afford them."
The focal point of the evening's festivities will be the unique setting of Salvage One, an architectural reclamation store. Tours of the facility and a presentation by the Salvage One staff will be offered. Additional activities include wine tasting by Randolph Wine Cellars paired with food by Finesse Cuisine, a musical performance and silent auction featuring two round-trip plane tickets on Southwest Airlines, two skybox tickets to a sold-out U2 concert at the United Center in May and a privately catered dinner for 10 by Finesse Cuisine, among others.
