Local resident Bayle stars in 'The Full Monty' at new Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place

Jason Bayle

The gala opening of the new Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place will be Wednesday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. featuring "The Full Monty." Lincoln Park resident Jason Bayle stars in the musical as Malcolm. Bayle has acted in productions such as "Forever Plaid" and "Sincerely Yours" at Jinx Theatre and Gene Theatre, in addition to the national tour of "Scrooge, The Musical." Bayle is also an Evans Scholar Alumnus from Northern Illinois University and a talented singer and songwriter.
Directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran and four time Jeff Award-winner Jim Corti, 'The Full Monty" is the funny, heartfelt story of a father who needs to raise some quick cash to maintain custody of his son. He joins together with five unemployed, out-of-shape steel-mill workers from Buffalo, and this unlikely group of lovable misfits hatch a desperate plan to get their lives back together — requiring them to triumph over their fears, their nerves and their clothes. Nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical and featuring a contemporary songbook, this sweet and romantic story of the resilience of the human spirit is a modern musical tale of true friendship.
The Chicago regional theatre premiere of the Broadway musical based on the film comedy begins previews Wednesday, May 11, and will run until Sunday, July 10. Previews are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The regular schedule for all shows is Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., select Wednesday matinees at 1:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
