Enjoy a Salute to the Musical Arts on Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m. as a tribute to the variety of musical talent in Old Town. Appearing on the program will be the Sounds of Sweetness barbershop ensemble under the direction of Jeff Weaver; the choir from the LaSalle Language Academy; the popular jazz group from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School; and the acclaimed instrumental group from Lincoln Park High School. In addition, the choir from the Herman Baptist Church will sing a selection of gospel songs. The location is the Herman Baptist Church, 1754 N. Clark St. After the music, there will be a reception at the Old Town Triangle Art Center, 1763 N. North Park Ave. Both the concert and the reception are free and open to the public.
