With "TV Time - Live on Ice," an ice show to be held April 29-30 and May 1 at McFetridge Sports Center, 3843 N. California Ave., visitors will take a journey of television shows (black and white) from the past through the present. Nearly 300 figure skating students — from preschoolers to seniors — will perform choreographed routines set to music representing popular shows from the '50s to current day television, including "American Bandstand," "Happy Days," "Friends," "Sopranos" and "The Apprentice." Dressed in full costume against elaborate sets and lighting, performers will entertain as they demonstrate technical and artistic skills gained through park instruction and endless hours of practice for the show.
McFetridge Sports Center's 15 skating professionals expertly choreograph the visually stimulating figure skating routines. In addition to the award-winning synchronized skating teams, the show will highlight soloists, specialty skaters, tots and all Ice Skating Institute (ISI) levels up to freestyle 10, Olympic-level competitors skating at speeds topping 30 miles per hour.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30; and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1. Tickets are on sale now at McFetridge Sports Center. Reserved seating is $7, general admission is $5 and seniors age 62 and older are $3.50. For more information, contact McFetridge Sports Center at (773) 478-2609. |
