A day of activities for families and children is on the fun-filled agenda when The Catherine Cook School in Chicago's Old Town/Gold Coast neighborhood holds a "Spring Fling" on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at A. Finkl & Sons, 2100 N. Southport Ave. The cost to attend the indoor-outdoor "community-building" event, which also includes music, games and food, is $15 for adults and $12 for children.
Founded in 1975, the school, located at 226 W. Schiller, is an independent, non-denominational, pre-college preparatory, co-educational facility with three distinct divisions: pre-school through junior kindergarten, a Lower School (K-4) and a Middle School (5-8). The school provides a challenging curriculum that blends traditional and contemporary education including art, music, computer and library sciences, physical education and foreign language instruction.
