National City is accepting submissions for its second annual Children's Champion Award, to honor organizations that contribute in an exemplary way to children's being safe, healthy, loved, and well educated. The award, presented in partnership with Voices for Illinois Children, is being expanded to include submissions from Kankakee.
Nomination forms are available at participating National City Bank branches in Kankakee, Rockford and Chicagoland. Those interested are encouraged to go to their local branch and fill out a form. Local honorees will be announced on July 11, and one local honoree will be selected for statewide recognition at Voices for Illinois Children's annual Kids Count Awards Dinner in October. The National City Children's Champion Award carries a $10,000 grant for the statewide honoree.
