Airport Express enhances reservation system

In August of this year, Airport Express implemented a new integrated reservation and dispatch system with advanced driver communications capabilities. The new system offers seamless communications between reservations, dispatchers and drivers resulting in faster reservations processing and more accurate service.

Because each customer record is now stored in one central database, Airport Express can track the status of each reservation and pinpoint the exact location of its vans. This improves efficiency and enables Airport Express to prevent or quickly resolve potential problems.

In phase two of the program, scheduled for late fall, drivers will be equipped with pagers through which they will receive assignments and be able to transmit information back to dispatch.

The new system also tracks and stores information about usage and customers. Airport Express can more accurately forecast service demand, making additional vehicles available for busier times.

“By fully automating the reservation process, we can offer our customers faster, more accurate service, increased options and better tracking capabilities,” said John McCarthy, president of Continental Air Transport.

Airport Express provides transportation for more than one million passengers to and from Chicago’s airports annually. Door-to-door service is provided in the city north to Irving Park Rd., south to 26th St. and west to Ashland Ave., as well as in most north and northwest suburbs.

The company also offers a full line of buses, mini-buses, and coaches to accommodate any size group. For reservations, call (888) 2 THE VAN or log onto www.AirportExpress.com.
