City Clerk James Laski recently held an awards ceremony for the finalists of the Vehicle Sticker Design Art Contest, which was co-sponsored by the City Clerk’s office and the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts. Participants were asked to incorporate the theme “Cultural Chicago” into their artwork by depicting the many cultural strengths and traditions of the city, both in the performing and visual arts. Sabeena Khan, a senior at St. Scholastica Academy, drew the winning design that will be featured on 1.3 million car windshields beginning in June. The high school students were honored with City Council Resolutions and savings bonds for their efforts.
