A bat signed by Sammy Sosa, a football autographed by Brian Urlacher, and a hockey stick signed by Bobby Hull are among the sports collectibles featured at the Arthritis Foundation’s Black Tie Gala on Saturday, Oct. 6, honoring NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath. Namath will receive the Freedom of Movement Award for his outstanding accomplishments and continued commitment to raising arthritis awareness. Tickets are $300 per person.
The gala’s silent auction includes numerous items autographed by Joe Namath, a football signed by Notre Dame coach Bob Davie, golf foursomes at Chicago area courses, an autographed Chicago Bulls basketball and much more.
The Great Hall at Union Station in Chicago is the spectacular venue for the event. Funds raised will be used to support research into the causes and cures for the more than 100 forms of arthritis, as well as to provide educational programs and information to the more than 43 million Americans affected by arthritis. Through its fundraising efforts, the Arthritis Foundation has contributed more than $250 million to arthritis research. For further information, call the Arthritis Foundation at (312) 616-3470.
