Cuban cuisine attracts North Siders to Sabor a Cuba




For an authentic taste of Cuba, visit Sabor a Cuba, 1833 W. Wilson Ave. Owner Hilda Kindelan has enhanced the restaurant with fresh flowers, lilting music and very pretty decor. The bright red menus picturing palms against a mountain background add to the ambiance of Cuba.

Daily lunch specials are served with white rice, black beans, and sweet fried plantains. The special on Monday is chicken fricasee, Tuesday ground beef served with a creole sauce, Wednesday pork fricasee, and Thursday Cuban style rice and chicken.

Sandwiches are served with a soda, french fries or plantain chips. The sandwich featured on Monday is “the famous Cuban sandwich,” on Tuesday the ropa vieja sandwich, on Wednesday the Cuban style steak sandwich, and Thursday the roasted pork sandwich.
