American Red Cross seeks volunteers

Immediately after the worst terrorist strike in the United States, generous Americans across Chicago, the state and the nation turned to the Red Cross to volunteer their time, blood and money. Relief for this and many other Red Cross programs is made possible by everyday people who learn how good it can feel to lend a helping hand. Volunteers are a critical part of the American Red Cross, working in neighborhoods every day to provide community disaster preparedness and relief, safety and health education, assistance to military families and international services.

With more than 50 different volunteer opportunities, there is a place for everyone at the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. If you would like to become a Red Cross volunteer, attend one of the following Red Cross volunteer information sessions at the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago headquarters at 111 E. Wacker Dr., suite 200 (Wacker Dr. and Michigan Ave.): Friday, Oct. 5, from 11 to 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
