June is National ASPCA Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month, and Tree House Animal Foundation and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) want you to add a wonderful shelter cat (or cats!) to your family this June. Chicago residents are invited to Tree House Animal Foundation where cats and kittens of many breeds, sizes and ages are eager to meet you. The theme of this year's Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month is "Be the love of nine lives. Adopt a Shelter Cat."
Adopting from Tree House Animal Foundation includes a number of benefits included in your new cat's adoption fee: spay/neuter, de-worming, flea treatment, FIV and FeLV testing, AVID microchip, veterinary examination, and all necessary vaccinations. Tree House also gives
e a 30-day health guarantee on all of its adoptions.
Special events and offerings have been planned to celebrate the month. For details, visit www.TreeHouseAnimals.org.
Tree House was established in 1971 as a no-kill, cageless shelter for injured, abandoned, and abused stray cats. At Tree House, cats curl up on sunny windowsills, sleep in comfortable cat trees, and interact with staff, volunteers, and other cats.
Tree House currently shelters an average of 300 cats, and found loving homes for 535 cats in 2004. More than 12,000 cats have been adopted since Tree House's founding. The in-house clinic offers full veterinary care (including spay and neuter) for all admitted cats, and the Socialization Program helps feral cats adapt to domestic life. Tree House also offers a variety of community programs, and educational programs on the importance of the human/animal bond.
Tree House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, and all donations are fully tax-deductible. It does not accept any federal or state funding. Almost all of its support comes from concerned and involved individuals. |
