'Martin Furey's Shot' at TimeLine

TimeLine Theatre Company, 615 W. Wellington Ave., presents the world premiere of "Martin Furey's Shot," written by Chicago actress and playwright Maureen Gallagher. "Martin Furey's Shot" is the story of a photojournalist struggling to balance his life in Chicago and his traumatic work in pre-election South Africa, Bosnia, Northern Ireland and other hot spots in the early 1990s. Martin tries to balance the horrors he has seen around the world with the normalcy he is expected to return to with his family and girlfriend at home. With his fellow photographers, Martin captures the struggles and dreams of a nation awaiting Nelson Mandela even as his own life falls apart.
Paid lot parking is available; the theatre is not handicapped accessible. "Martin Furey's Shot" runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. through June 19.
