Irish American Heritage Center

Incorporated in 1976, the Irish American Heritage Center was established to provide a permanent facility that would recognize and strengthen the heritage of Chicago's Irish community. The magnificent 86,000 square foot building is home to a multitude of programs, events and classes that foster and highlight the Irish heritage. The center accommodates a newly renovated reference library, historical museum, banquet hall, a 750 seat theater, an art gallery, several dance studios and recreational facilities.
A number of concerts are offered through the year. Lectures and forums are held in the spring and fall covering a wide range of topics relating the Irish culture. The Center also hosts two major festivals each year-the St. Patrick's Day Party and the Irish American Heritage Festival held the second weekend of July.
