In addition, stickers may be purchased at one of the following City of Chicago sales offices: 2550 W. Addison St. and 400 W. Superior St. Currency exchanges also sell vehicle stickers, but include a service fee. Residential permits and passes are not sold at these locations.
The 2005-2006 city sticker theme is Cultural Chicago, honoring the cultural strengths and traditions of the city. Sabeena Khan, a senior at St. Scholastica High School, designed this year's sticker. Her design was chosen from among over 400 submissions received by the City Clerk's office in the annual art contest for Chicago high school students.
Chicagoans must comply with the Wheel Tax Ordinance and display the new sticker on their windshields by the July 15 deadline or face tickets and fines. Money collected from the wheel tax is allocated to fund road improvements throughout Chicago. |
