The Chicago Office of Tourism is offering locals an opportunity to receive tickets for a free ride around the Loop. Four trains will carry visitors and locals around the loop at 11 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:20 p.m. and 1 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 24. Tickets are a must. They are available at no cost at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., when the Center opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets are issued on a first come-first served basis, so get there early.
The 40-minute ride will point out architectural highlights along the route. It's an ideal program for kids who have never ridden the trains that define Chicago's Loop area. The program is co-sponsored by the Chicago Architecture Foundation and the CTA. For information on this and other city programs, call (877) 244-2246 (877-Chicago).
