Hell in a Handbag Productions, who brought you "POSEIDON! An Upside Down Musical" and "Rudolph, The Red-Hosed Reindeer," now presents "SCARRIE – The Musical," an unauthorized musical parody of the classic 70’s horror film "Carrie," the tale of a high school misfit, who raises telekinetic hell when pushed too far by her peers and fanatically religious mother. This new musical by David Cerda features a live rock band, an original 1970s influenced score and lots of pigs’ blood.
The show opens Saturday, July 2, with previews July 1, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 7. Performances are Thursday - Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets are $25 and are available by calling the Theatre Building Chicago Box Office at (773) 327-5252. Group sales are also available by calling (312) 409-4357.

Veronica Sheaffer plays the well-meaning Sue Snell, and Ryan Lanning is Sue’s boyfriend, the All-American, golden-curled Tommy Ross.
The cast also includes ensemble member Merrie Greenfield as well as Rachael Kay Albers, Trish Austin, Jaya Subramanian, Kyra Lewandowski, Kevin Simmons, Adam Cook, Michael Kingston and James Bould.
Special guest star appearances are also scheduled throughout the run and include Curt Columbus and Erica Daniels (Steppenwolf), Jim Bennett (Windy City Radio, GayCo), Jinx Titanic (Jinx Titanic band), Vicki Quade (Late Nite Catechism) and many more.
