The Paintbrush, an innovative new art studio for children, opened its doors in April. Bringing music and art together, classes at The Paintbrush introduce children to music from classical to modern while they explore various artistic media to create their own unique works of art. Attend a grand opening celebration and open house Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Paintbrush is located at 2856 N. Halsted St.
The studio is owned and run by Lincoln Park sisters Melanie Apel, stay-at-home mother of two small boys, and Mindy Apel, a former kindergarten teacher.
The cost of the 10-week summer session is $200 per student, which includes all materials. Classes are offered for children ages 18 months to 12 years. No previous art experience is necessary. Parents/Tot classes are 45 minutes long, and kids' classes are one hour long. Classes are offered at varying times during the week.
