Prepared Childbirth classes to prepare women and their partners for the childbirth experience including Cesarean delivery are available at Saint Joseph Hospital, 2900 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Registration is required; call 877-RES-INFO (877-737-4636) to register for the following classes:
Prepared Childbirth — Tuesdays, sessions begin Aug. 2 and Sept. 6; 7 -9:30 p.m. This series of five classes will cover breathing and relaxation techniques. Cesarean delivery as well as newborn care are discussed. There is a $50 fee if registrants plan on delivering at Saint Joseph and $65 if they plan on delivering elsewhere.
Prepared Childbirth (Refresher) — Tuesdays, July 26, Aug. 30 and Sept. 27; 7 - 9:30 p.m. A refresher class for women and their coaches to prepare for the childbirth experience, including Cesarean delivery. The fee is $15.
Prepared Childbirth (Weekend) — July 16 and 17; Aug. 20 and 21; Sept. 17 and 18; 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Breathing and relaxation techniques, Cesarean delivery as well as newborn care, are discussed. There is a $65 fee if registrants plan on delivering at Saint Joseph and $75 if they plan on delivering elsewhere. |
