Ram Velamati, M.D., left, and Peter Rooney, M.D., were recently recognized by Saint Joseph Hospital. Section Chief of Neonatology Ram Velamati, M.D., was chosen from among 20 physicians to receive the hospital's 2004 Mentorship and Teamwork Award. He was recognized for his significant contributions to staff development by presenting in-services, exemplifying a collaborative spirit and openly accepting feedback from staff. Dr. Rooney, a urologist, received the hospital's 2004 Community Service Award for contributing his time to presenting community health programs and initiatives. He was selected from among 15 physicians to receive the award.
