Ald. Vi Daley and Children's Memorial Hospital are gearing up for the fifth annual 43rd Ward Summer Safety Fest, Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at Lincoln Park High School, made possible by BankOne. The event is free.
Mayor Daley's Bicycle Ambassadors will be fitting bike helmets and the first 150 children will receive free bike helmets. The Summer Safety Fest will also feature live entertainment by Radio Disney, Old Town School of Folk Music Wiggle Worms and the Emerald City Theater Company. All children who attend will receive a goodie bag filled with toys from McDonald's, the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce and Children's Memorial.
There will be free food and drink provided by Demon Dogs, Argo Tea, ColdStone Creamery and Ben and Jerry's, and games for the children to play provided by the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce. Also, there will be a free raffle, prizes including a child's bicycle donated by Village Cycle; a chair and ottoman donated by Land of Nod; an iPod mini with $15 gift certificate to Tunes, both from Escape; and free tuition and a magic kit from Emerald City Theater Company. All these items will be raffled off at the end of the event.
