'Menopause The Musical' celebrates two years at Apollo

The international hit "Menopause The Musical" will celebrate the second anniversary of its smash Chicago production at the Apollo Theater on Sunday, July 24. Audience members attending the anniversary performance will join the cast and crew for a Champagne and chocolate celebration in the lobby following the 3:30 p.m. performance.
"Menopause The Musical" brings together four women (an aging soap opera star, an Iowa housewife, a business executive and a lost-in-the-'60s hippie) at a Bloomingdale's lingerie sale, who have nothing in common but a black lace bra and hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex, plastic surgery and more. The show parodies 25 of the top baby boomer songs of the '60s and '70s, including such chart-toppers as "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" ("You No Longer See 39") and the disco favorite "Stayin' Alive" ("Stayin' Awake! Stayin' Awake!"), to name a few.
The Chicago production is directed by Kathryn Conte and choreographed by Patty Bender with musical and vocal arrangements by C. T. Hollis. The show is performed with a live three-piece band.
Currently, performances are Tuesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 5 and 8 p.m.; Sundays at 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 2 p.m.
