The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau has named Lincoln Park artist Nancie King Mertz the official Artist of the Year for 2005-2006. The Bureau has commissioned Mertz to create a number of oils of Chicago to be presented to the CEOs of major organizations visiting the city. Her husband, Ron, will also publish the images as Giclée prints on canvas for additional gifts for visiting board members.
Ron & Nancie own Art De Triumph & Artful Framer Studios, a gallery and frame shop at 2936 N. Clark St., where Mertz originals and prints are available. Artful Framer Studios was named "Small Business of the Year 2000" by the Lincoln Park Chamber and Nancie was awarded "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Network of Women Entrepreneurs.
