Trouble sleeping? Ronald McDonald leads this year’s Friends of the Parks’ L.A.T.E Ride (Long After Twilight Ends) departing from Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park at 1:30 a.m. Saturday night/Sunday morning on July 10! This non-competitive charity event is a 22.1 moonstruck mile ride through downtown Chicago and North Side neighborhoods. Registration is $35-$40.

This is the only chance to ride the lakefront paths that close at 11 p.m. Past riders reports good weather — it hasn’t rained in the past 16 years for this event. Post-ride is a complimentary McDonald’s breakfast (including new Fruit & Walnut Salad, Apple Dippers, orange juice, coffee, bagels, apple juice, Dasani, Powerade, McDonaldland cookies and more) at the Buckingham Fountain finish area — plus a group viewing (9,000 participants expected) of the
