Tone Stockenstrom is turning the lens on herself for the first time in her career. In her exhibit, "Where is Home?" Stockenstrom delves into her Swedish past, exploring the history of her family. "Where is home?" will be on exhibit at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St., through Sept. 4.
Stockenstrom emigrated from Sweden to the United States with her parents and brother and sister when she was six years old. She visited Sweden last fall to photograph family members, conduct interviews and search through old family negatives. Many of these findings will be included in her exhibit, which will weave photography with text and objects. |
