Quigley plans yard sale, benefit dinner

As part of its celebration of 100 years of educational excellence as Chicago's High School Roman Catholic Seminary, Quigley Preparatory Seminary is planning twin events that will be open to the community. The first event, planned for Saturday, July 30, and held in the Quigley Auditorium at Rush and Pearson streets, will entail a "Magnificent Mile Garage Sale."
On sale will be small household furniture, decorative items, toys, games and books. A variety of vendors will be offering food, plants, candles, jewelry and much more in the courtyard.
Contributions of what Quigley calls "gently used items" are more than welcome. These items will be accepted by staff members during normal business hours - 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — as well as on Saturday, July 16, from 8 to 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit various school programs.
In addition, plans are under way for a benefit dinner to be held on Sept. 10. Following a mass to be celebrated by Francis Cardinal George in the St. James Chapel, an open air dinner will be held in the courtyard. Both a live and silent auction will be held following dinner.
