Dan Goldberg is a commercial and fine art photographer who specializes in still life and food. Inspired by the simplicity and beauty in everyday objects, he incorporates classic composition with contemporary lighting techniques. Using the highly reactive Lith printing process, Goldberg creates images that are dramatic and engaging.

Benfest
Benfest, the annual community fair benefiting the Schools of St. Benedict Parish, will celebrate its 54th year on Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 17. Among the highlights of this year’s fair will be headline performances by Motown legends Rare Earth on Saturday night and the wildly energetic Fabulous Janes on Sunday. The gate donation for Benfest, which will be held around the parish grounds at 2215 W. Irving Park Rd. (at Leavitt St.) in the North Center neighborhood, is $5. Summer Sizzle
The Chicago Department on Aging’s Levy Senior Center invites senior citizens to welcome the summer season with dancing and live entertainment. Kid’s Bike Parade
Join Ald. Tom Tunney’s Kid’s Bike Parade in conjunction with the Summer on Southport Children’s Festival, on Sunday, July 24. The parade will be held on Southport Ave. from Waveland Ave. to Byron St. The staging and line up will start at 9 a.m. at Blaine School. The parade will begin at 9.15 a.m. sharp. Stammtisch features Phenix
Free live music by the Phenix will be the feature of the next DANK-Chicago Open House & Stammtisch. Site-specific comedy in Wrigleyville apartment
Sandbox Theatre Project continues to explore the exciting relationship between actors, audience and physical space in their site-specific work "Where We Live." The production features a creative ensemble of three, and is performed up close and personal in an actual Wrigleyville apartment. Performances are July 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30, with a pre-show party at 8 p.m. The 45-minute play begins at 9 p.m. each evening. As the party and show are held in a private residence, seating is extremely limited and the exact performance address in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood will be given upon reservation. Dance a jig with Trinity Irish Dance
Trinity Academy of Irish Dance has announced open enrollment for its six-week summer sessions taking place in Lake View and on the Northwest Side. Classes will run:
11 a.m. – noon Tuesdays, July 19-Aug. 23, at Dance Center Chicago, 3868 N. Lincoln Ave., 2nd floor; and 1:30 – 2.30 p.m. Thursdays, July 21 – Aug. 25, at the Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave. (at Wilson Ave.), Social Center, 3rd floor.
Children ages 5-12 are welcome to enroll, and no prior dance instruction is necessary. During the summer session, children will learn the basics of Irish Dance including a step of the jig, all taught by Trinity’s dedicated teachers. At the end of the six-week session, all students will showcase what they have learned at the second annual "Yes! Let’s Dance!" show on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Navy Pier.

Celebrating 115 years of service

Cochran is the Chairman of the Board of the Association. The Jane Addams Hull House Legacy Campaign, which honored Mr. Cole, raised $650,000 to support Hull House programs throughout the area. Past recipients of the Jane Addams Legacy Award include Margaret Mead, Senator Paul Douglas, Benny Goodman, and many of Chicago’s business leaders.

Gala fundraiser for The Second City Foundation
The Second City Foundation presents its first gala fundraiser, "Second City: All Access," on Monday, July 25, at The Second City theaters and Training Center at 1608 N. Wells St. Guests will travel throughout The Second City’s legendary theaters and classrooms to enjoy performances, workshops, video screenings and other onstage and behind-the-scenes activities in true Second City style – with fun, humor, interaction and surprise. Standard tickets are $100; Premiere tickets are $200 and include a 6 p.m. cocktail party. Classical Symphony Orchestra
The Protégé Philharmonic of Chicago will present a free concert on Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. The concert will take place in the Preston Bradley Hall of the Cultural Center, 78 E. 3 Arts Gallery presents ‘Title and Deed’
Artists Laurie Hogin and Lora Lode will exhibit work in a new installation, "Title and Deed," opening Thursday, July 14, at the Three Arts Club of Chicago (3Arts), 1300 N. Dearborn Pkwy. The exhibition will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 25. Jean Albano Gallery
The Jean Albano Gallery is pleased to announce solo exhibitions by Robert Walker and Sandra Perlow. The exhibitions open on Friday, July 15, and will run through Saturday, Aug. 27. Chicagoland Garden Walk
To mark its first decade in print, Chicagoland Gardening is hosting a Garden Walk on Sunday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., showcasing 10 gardens around the Chicago area that have been featured in the magazine plus the garden of editor Carolyn Ulrich. Tickets are $8; proceeds benefit charity. Local gardens include that of Wes Gilbert, 3247 N. Bell Ave., which takes advantage of the flagstone patio and planting areas around it; Laury Lewis, 2216 N. Wayne Ave., which offers an "informal English cottage garden"; and Dennis Paul, 6129 N. Paulina St., which uses the entire palette of plants to blend form with texture, color with exquisite placement.
