Is it time for your bungalow to get a check-up? Need a home inspector and don't know how hire a respected professional? Assisting bungalow owners with home care needs, the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association announces their "Home Inspection for Bungalow Homeowners" seminar on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Sulzer Regional Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave. It is free, begins at 7 p.m. and will last approximately 90 minutes.
Most people think of hiring a home inspector before purchasing a house. Greg Brewer, of the American Institute of Architects and licensed home inspector, will discuss the benefits of a home inspection after purchase, and how it can help prioritize maintenance and repairs and plan for future home improvements. Brewer will explain common problems associated with bungalows, including electrical systems and natural gas safety. He will also inform the group on how to select a reputable inspector for their own homes.
If you have any questions or want to reserve a space at the seminars, please call the HCBA at (312) 642-9900 or send an email to bungalow@chicagobungalow.org. |
