Come sail away with the Illinois Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at their ninth annual Foley & Lardner LLP Leukemia Cup Regatta on Aug. 26-27 at the Chicago Yacht Club. Chicago area residents can set sail for a cure in helping the fight against leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma by raising funds
for research into these
blood cancers.
The Foley & Lardner Leukemia Cup Regatta will kick off on Friday, Aug. 26, with a Skippers Meeting at 6:30 p.m. located at Belmont Harbor. Open to all sailors, this meeting will explain race rules and regulations. A reception, sponsored by Mt. Gay Rum, will follow the Skippers Meeting at 7:30 p.m. On race day, Saturday, Aug. 27, boats will set sail at 1:30 p.m. from Monroe Harbor and return around 5 p.m.
Following the race, the Foley & Lardner Leukemia Cup Regatta will host a reception at Monroe Harbor, sponsored by Goose Island Beer. Top fundraisers will be honored at the reception with prizes including a chartered sail boat trip to Antigua, a trip to sail with ESPN commentator Gary Jobson and a $500 gift card to West Marine Sail Shop.
