Low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for pets

Tree House Animal Foundation, 1212 W. Carmen Ave., is expanding its subsidized spay/neuter surgeries for rescued strays and for pets of low-income pet owners in Chicagoland, thanks to a generous grant from the Brach Foundation. Tree House has always offered a low-cost spay/neuter program; the Brach Foundation Grant has given them the opportunity to increase the veterinary staff time and dedicate more hours to performing these life-saving procedures.
If you are interested in registering for the Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program, please call (773) 784-5488, ext. 229, and leave a detailed message with your name and phone number. The program coordinator will get back to you to schedule an appointment. The cost of a spay surgery is $45 for a rescued stray female and $20 for female pets of low-income pet guardians. The cost of a neuter surgery is $25 for a rescued stray male and $20 for male pets of low-income pet guardians. Drop-off time is between 7:30 and 9 a.m. in the morning. Pick up will be the same evening from 5 to 6 p.m.
In addition to the Spay/Neuter surgery, Tree House also offers the following services: Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus testing ($15), topical flea treatment ($10), PCR ($5) and Rabies vaccinations ($10).
Payment is required at the time of drop-off in cash, check or money order and proof of low-income is required at the time of payment. Cats must be delivered in secure, reusable carriers. Tree House sells durable, plastic cat carriers for $5.
