Friends, families and individuals impacted by lymphoma — and survivors of the disease — will gather at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Montrose Harbor on Chicago's lakefront (4400 N) for the third annual "Lymphomathon" 5K Walk/Run.
The event's goal is to increase public awareness of the more than 30 types of lymphoma blood cancer as well as raise money for the Lymphoma Research Foundation's research and educational programs.
There is no registration fee, but participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges or contributions. Individuals raising this amount or more receive a t-shirt; those raising $250 or more receive a sweatshirt.
