Thresholds Theatre Arts Project presents "Ourselves Unabridged: From the Page to the Stage," opening Friday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., created and performed by Thresholds members and local artists. Join Thresholds, Illinois' oldest and largest psychiatric rehabilitation center, to celebrate the 16th Annual Theatre Arts Project. Hearing voices, losing a child, a first date, teen angst and more — all jump off the pages of our lives. Their stories, songs and poetry resonate with the lives of the audience.
The show is directed by Marti Szalai-Raymond and features Cheryl Almgren, Courtney Berne, Lena Bryant, Chi Byers, Gloria Centeno, Mark Czyzewski, Vanessa Flosiris, Mark Gonciarz, Margarita Jannusch, Kathy Lewis, Allen McNair, Tom Miner, Orlando Mora, Victoria Parra, Jayson Rackley, Jessica Salis, Christopher Smith and David Yabroff.
The production relies on Assistant Director Mark Konold, Managing Director Kirsten Fitzgerald, Stage Manager Melissa Cook, and Lighting Designer Andrew Glasenhardt.

An Opening Night Benefit on Friday, Aug. 19, costs $40. It features a pre-show performance by the Outlaw Family Band at 6:30 p.m., and a post-show discussion and party.
