Adorable dogs, cats, kittens, puppies available for adoption on Armitage Avenue

PAWS Chicago, the city's largest no-kill humane organization, along with over 15 other local animal shelters, will team up to bring the faces of Chicago's homeless animals to over 35 upscale shops along Armitage Avenue between Halsted St. and Kenmore Ave., from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. Stores participating include Barker & Meowsky, Lush Cosmetics, All She Wrote, Multiple Choices, Paul Frank Store and United Colors of Benetton. Hundreds of homeless pets will be available for adoption during the eighth annual Angels with Tails on Armitage Avenue.
Every year, tens of thousands of cats and dogs are killed in Chicago because they have no homes.  Since opening in 1997, PAWS Chicago (Pets Are Worth Saving) has helped to reduce the animal euthanasia number from 42,561 to 24,092 through targeted spay/neuter, innovative adoption and humane education/community outreach programs.  Although there are still huge strides to be made, the problem is solvable.
