A dozen of the 39 specialty retail stores that line Armitage Ave. in Lincoln Park are each hosting a different designer or artist trunk show every weekend in October. This group includes three new stores that are scheduled to open on Armitage this fall. “It will be quite an event,” said David Ginople, of Findables and Merchant Association president. “Customers will be able to meet and talk to a dozen different artists and designers each weekend and actually see who creates the home, fashion and jewelry creations that they enjoy.”
“We decided to band together and create an incredible energy,” added Ivy Hofstadter, of Ancient Echoes. “There is excitement on the street when even one designer has a trunk show, so with a dozen different options, each weekend, there will be great excitement.”
Each store will host four different designers who best reflect the different work in their stores. Ancient Echoes, for example, will feature Klaus Fries 14kt gold and sterling handcrafted jewelry on Oct. 20 and 21; and Josef Klingler mini teapots on Oct. 27 and 28. Artists who create jewelry, clothing, hats, furniture, body products, shoes, home accessories, tabletop items, picture frames and art work will all be in the stores to interact with customers. Each store can be contacted for a list on artists participating. For additional information or store phone numbers contact Ivy Hofstadter at Ancient Echoes, (773) 880-1003.
