St. Jude's Auxiliary Board will sponsor the fifth annual "Under the Harvest Moon" benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on Friday, Nov. 4, from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., at Germania Place, 108 W. Germania Place (south of the Clark St. and North Ave. intersection).
Attendees will dance and celebrate with Honorary Chair Richard Roeper, co-host of "Ebert and Roeper." The event includes live music by Ryan See and The Pete Fleming Orchestra, a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and a premium open bar. Tickets are $75 in advance or $90 at the door. Last year's benefit attracted 500 young professional Chicagoans, supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Auxiliary Board of Chicago was established in the year 2000 and is a diverse group of men and women under the age of 40 from all professions, overseen by the Executive Board. It was established to give Chicago residents a chance to help children battle all kinds of illnesses. The primary mission is to create awareness of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to establish funds for children dealing with catastrophic illnesses so they can live a long and fulfilling life.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, TN, St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization.
