Registration is now open for ninth graders in the Chicago area to participate in the Early Involvement Program (EIP) sponsored by the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA). The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 17. Decisions will be made by Oct. 21.
In its 15th year, EIP is designed to help African-American, Latino and economically disadvantaged students improve their math, science and communications skills as well as increase their competitiveness if they choose to apply to IMSA. Held at DePaul University’s Loop campus, the Saturday sessions (Nov. 5 - Feb. 18) include discovery-based and collaborative activities, as well as some preparation for the SAT. In addition to the Saturday sessions, students will attend an all-day retreat at IMSA Dec. 10.
