On the 15th day of each month at 7:30 p.m., a prayer service for peace in the Middle East is held at Luther Memorial Church, 2500 W. Wilson Ave. The service includes readings from the Bible, music and prayer. The vigil for peace will continue to be held each month until a just and lasting peace is achieved. The prayer service is part of an ecumenical effort in the United States and the world to pray daily until peace comes to the region.
