'Nutcracker Christmas' fundraiser at Apollo

Emerald City Theatre Company is launching the holiday season with a fun new family event on Thanksgiving weekend - the Emerald City "Nutcracker Christmas" Fundraiser, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Apollo Theater, 2540 N. Lincoln Ave.
Join Emerald City fans, friends and supporters in the Apollo lobby at 12:30 p.m., then watch the 1 p.m. world premiere of "A Nutcracker Christmas." Following the show is a reception where everyone can meet the cast and Jeff-award playwright G. Riley Mills and composer Ralph Covert (of "Ralph's World" fame), who will perform a few songs. Play theater games and enjoy holiday refreshments, including Cold Stone Creamery's new "Nutcracker Twist" ice cream, custom-made to celebrate Emerald City's new holiday season musical. Plus, each child will go home with a unique holiday gift.
Emerald City Theatre Company's "A Nutcracker Christmas" is a fun, fresh holiday spectacular based on the traditional story of The Nutcracker. The show is presented in engaging musical theater style, and features a slew of cool new holiday songs - including "The Wind-Up Ballet," "Welcome to Christmas Wood!" and "Let's Ruin Christmas."
Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for children 2 to 12 years. Subscribers play $24.50 for adults, $17.50 for children. For tickets and information, call (773) 935-6100, or visit www.emeraldcitytheatre.com.
