A female Realtor showed a potential buyer around a property in the 1800 block of N. Burling St. at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. However, the potential buyer turned out to be an armed robber.
The ”client” began to ask personal questions as he toured the property. As they entered the basement, he said he was in a hurry to buy. Standing behind her, he then placed an arm around her neck, pulled out a stun gun, placed it on her chest, and turned it on.
“I’m going to put you on the floor. Give me your earrings and your watch,” he said. He also took her car keys and Blackberry phone and commanded, ”Wait five minutes before you get up!” He ran up the stairs and exited.
The victim got up, discovered she had a welt on her chest, and called 911 on her other cell phone. The value of the earrings was $128,000, the watch $28,000.
The robber was a balding white man, 45, 5’7”, 145 lb., wearing a brown leather jacket and brown corduroy pants. |
