Interrupted burglar flees with loot

At 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, a resident returned from the gym to the 2300 block of N. Sheffield Ave. and noticed his laptop was missing from the bedroom dresser. He then realized that the bathroom door was halfway open and he pushed it—but the door would not open further. At this point the resident turned on the bathroom light and observed a burglar behind the door.
The burglar pushed the resident out of the way. The resident pushed back and said, “Who are you?” The offender responded, “I will teach you to steal from me, Mark!” (The victim’s name was not Mark.)
The burglar fled, taking the laptop ($4,000), $20 cash, a NY driver’s license, and a debit card. The card was used at Roseland Food Store around midnight that night.
The offender was described as a black man, 19-20, 6’, 160 lb., wearing a white doo rag and a dark baseball cap, a black leather jacket with red and white on it, and green jeans.
