UIG's lawyer, Jim Clune, responds:

Mary:

I read, with interest, Mr. McCormick's comments. I stand by my statements to you. The RVCC met in September at which time I attended the meeting at the Four Treys on behalf of my client, Union Insurance Group. I then spoke to the RVCC acting Board and urged that their plans to amend the by-laws were premature; that first proper Board elections should be held. Al Johnson called the Board's attorney, Mike McCormick, and I stepped out of the room to discuss the issues with him using Al Johnson's cell phone. It was a cordial conversation. We agreed at that time that we should meet to review the records which my client had been seeking for over a year, and to discuss the recently proposed by-laws. Upon returning to the September meeting I handed the phone to Al Johnson. After Mr. Johnson spoke with Mr. McCormick the vote on the by-laws was tabled to Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 10:30 A.M.
During the week of September 26 I spoke with Mr. McCormick. I advised him that we wished to review the past meeting minutes and particularly the financial records, including tax returns. He advised that he had, or could get, all of these items. I suggested a meeting during that week, with that Friday being particularly good for my schedule. Mr. McCormick advised we should be able to do this by fax and phone; that a meeting should not be necessary. I agreed that we should meet or speak on Friday, September 30 after I received the records. After I did not hear from Mr. McCormick I called his office once again and left a message. His paralegal responded and advised that she would convey my message to Mr. McCormick, the message being that I needed to see the documents as soon as possible, no later than Monday, October 3, 2005 because the meeting was scheduled for the following Wednesday and I was scheduled to be on trial in Carlyle, Illinois on Tuesday.
I have heard nothing further from Mr. McCormick since my conversation with him during the week of September 26, 2005. No documents have been sent from his office. If the books and records are available for anyone interested I am available Friday, November 4 and the entire week of November 7 through November 11 to meet with Mr. McCormick and view and copy the records. Alternatively, I would be happy to pay Record Copy Services to appear in the offices of Mr. McCormick at any time with a copy machine in tow to copy any records the RVCC has made available.
