Provision Theater, an Equity-affiliated, non-profit Chicago organization, launches its 2005-2006 season with the second year of Charles Dickens' classic tale "A Christmas Carol," adapted by Tim Gregory and David Bell, and directed by Gregory. The 2004 production received Joseph Jefferson Award nominations for Tim Gregory and David Bell (Best New Adaptation), and for Principal Actor in a Musical, Bradley Armacost, who returns as Scrooge again this year.
Discover the Victorian tale all over again by following the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge on his magical trip with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, as he learns the power of change and the true meaning of Christmas. This play of hope and inspiration in the holiday spirit is affordable and enjoyable for the whole family. The show runs about two hours with one intermission.
The show will be performed at Theatre Building Chicago (TBC), 1225 W. Belmont Ave. It opens Sunday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m., with a reception to follow, then runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., through Dec. 30. For tickets ($15-$25), call (773) 327-5252, or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
