Holiday bells will jingle merrily at St. Chrysostom's Day School's annual shopping and entertainment extravaganza Nov. 10, 11 and 12, at 1424 N. Dearborn Pkwy. This event is an all-inclusive holiday outing for shoppers, children and parents, alike, with food, elegant gifts and free shows. Twinkling decorations, delicious indulgences and exclusive buying opportunities will get you in a merry mood and give you an early jump on your holiday to-do list!
The festivities kick off on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with the gala Preview Party. View the vendors' items, enjoy St. Chrysostom's specialty cocktails, and savor culinary delights by Limelight food illuminated. Tickets for the evening are $50 in advance and $60 at the door, which include admittance for all three days to the Faire.
On Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12, while the grown-ups are enjoying browsing and shopping, St. Chrysostom's Day School's Holiday Faire offers free entertainment for the kids from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (caretakers not included). The cost of admission is $10 at the door, and children under 12 are free. Doors open up both days at 10 a.m., closing on Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Kids can dance, sing along and play with some of their favorite characters, like Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Elmo and Clifford. Artists from Bubbles Academy will feature new and exciting songs, as well. Balloon artists and face painters will be joined by holiday craft activities, storytelling, magic shows and fairy tale puppet shows. Get a child's caricature drawn or check out A Young Rembrandt's Program and more. Perhaps, best of all, the kids can meet Santa on Saturday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The bake sale will offer yummy homemade treats throughout the weekend. Pick up a copy of "Morrie's Best" to find restaurants, recipes and tips on comfort food, Chicago Style.
