'Holiday Pops' at St. Josaphat features local singers from 15 to 74

Festive Christmas music favorites will take center stage at the fifth annual "Holiday Pops," a musical extravaganza performed at the ornate and historic St. Josaphat Church in Chicago's Lincoln Park/ DePaul neighborhood on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The joyous concert—a holiday kick-off tradition for the entire family that includes audience participation—will be held at 7:30 p.m. at 2311 N. Southport Ave. This year's guest host and moderator is NBC5 on-air personality Rob Elgas.
Maestro Scott Arkenberg will conduct the 90-plus member chorus accompanied by the 48-piece Southport Symphony Orchestra.
The Holiday Pops chorus is comprised of singers ranging in age from 15 to 74 who live in or near Lincoln Park. The Southport Symphony Orchestra is comprised of professional musicians who have performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
General admission seating for adults is $20. Children 13 and under pay $8; students and seniors pay $13. Reserved seating is also available for $30 and $50. (The $50 tickets include complimentary champagne and appetizers.)
