Celebrating St. Clement's 100th Anniversary

A representative from Illinois State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka's office, Tony Presta, delivered a proclamation in recognition of St. Clement Catholic Church's 100th anniversary to Church leadership on Oct. 18. The parish, at 642 W. Deming Pl., was founded on Oct. 18, 1905, by a group of German men and women who were seeking a place of worship for the German-speaking population in the Lincoln Park community. St. Clement School was opened in 1906 and has been known for its excellence in Catholic education.
