Roaring '20s Musical Comedy

TheatreDreams presents a new production of Sandy Wilson’s lively show, ”The Boy Friend,” to be directed by Julie Andrews, at the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State St., for six performances only, Nov. 15-19. "The Boy Friend" is a loving spoof of 1920s musical comedies, with book, music and lyrics by Sandy Wilson. Amidst happy flappers and perfect young ladies, the story tells of romance blooming on the French Riviera as an English heiress suddenly falls for the delivery boy. The score features “Won’t You Charleston with Me?,” “Safety in Numbers,” “I Could Be Happy With You,” and, of course, “The Boy Friend.”
Performances will be Tuesday-Friday, Nov. 15-18, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 and 8 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $69.50. Call (312) 902-1500.
