The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) recently announced resurfacing projects on 7.75 miles of arterial streets in the City of Chicago. The following streets will be part of the project: Broadway from Diversey to Belmont avenues, Clark St. from Addison St. to Montrose Ave., Addison St. from Lake Shore Dr. to Clark St., Homan Ave. from Harrison St. to Roosevelt Rd., Jackson Blvd. from Damen to Kedzie avenues, Central Park Ave. from Harrison St. to Roosevelt Rd., and Kinzie St. from Wells St. to the Chicago River.
Lane and parking restrictions could be in effect during these projects. Residents and drivers using these streets are advised to be alert for signs spelling out these restrictions.
These projects are part of a multi-year program to resurface more than 1,000 miles of arterial streets in Chicago. The Arterial Street Resurfacing Program is funded through the state. CDOT is responsible for managing the construction work and traffic impacts. In the last 10 years CDOT has resurfaced more than 250 miles of arterial streets. |
